Are tryouts free?
Yes — tryout registration is completely free. There is no cost to attend.
What age groups are eligible?
We are evaluating boys ages 5–16 (U6 through U16) for the 2025/26 season.
What about girls?
Unfortunately, we are still working to develop a competitive program for girls. In the meantime, we encourage girls 5-10 (all levels) to also join our Ball Mastery program. You can book a trial class here.
Does my child need prior experience to try out?
Players should have at least one season of recreational or competitive experience. If your child has never played before, we have a separate beginner program called the Ball Mastery Challenge — click here to learn more.
What should we bring to tryouts?
Cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle. Wear athletic clothing you can move in.
What happens after the tryout?
Our coaching staff evaluates every player individually. We'll follow up with next steps and placement information based on their performance.
What if my child is sick or can't make their scheduled date?

Is this a club team or a training program?
Both. Soccer Mavericks runs structured training programs and competitive teams. Tryouts determine placement within the right group for your child's level.
